Orange Art Center: Figure Drawing Workshop

Orange Art Center: High School Figure Drawing

Great high school figure drawing workshop at Orange Art Center this weekend. The five hour workshop for offered an intense and rewarding experience for the art students to work for the first time from a live model.

Starting with an exercise in gestural drawing and progressing to longer, more detailed poses the students were encouraged to develop their skills in observation, line quality and tonal dimension.

I was impressed to see what amounted to a transformation from timid beginnings to a blossoming of confidence and pride in the work and feel rewarded as an instructor to see this growth in such a short period of time.

Although unable to attend in person, several of my friends from the Cleveland fine art community shared images of the Moon 3 Satellite Invitational project organized by Loren Nadji. I am proud to be a part of this invitation only, community arts project happening now in the Collinwood Arts District.
