Lakewood Hospital has once again partnered with Local Girl Gallery in Lakewood to auction off original art works at it's annual Starry Night Celebration on July 31, 2009. 

"Erin's Night", Oil on Canvas by John W. Carlson (shown below) will be available to the highest bidder at this years event.

Show just booked for artist, John W. Carlson

Just booked a spontaneous show at Cana - a Wine and Martini Bar in Medina after the owner noticed my work at BAYarts (Thanks for the feature wall up front BAYarts). Cana is located in refurbished old building just south of the square in Medina on Smith. It will be a good place to showcase my large paintings and drawings. We are planning to hang it this week and have a midweek opening in a week or so... details to follow here soon - join us.

73rd Annual Butler Midyear Show

Last Sunday - It was a really, really great day! 

Lucky is the artist who has his show rained upon... again... who cares about that... to see myse selected painting (Struggle - oil on canvas by American Artist, John W. Carlson) hanging in the Butler Institute of American Art was a dream come true. Thanks to juror (George Adams), my wonderful wife (Erin Giddings), family, friends and fans for all the incredible support and positive feedback. I appreciate it more than I can ever express. 

The Annual Butler Midyear show runs thru August 23rd.
